Life lessons

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away it was my privilege and pleasure to work for William Rossow as a senior scientific programmer/ researcher/ at NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP). I then followed Bill to the NOAA-CREST Remote Sensing of Climate Group at CCNY, where I continued my research, as well as working as a system administrator and managing a big data storage system. To see selected publications I contributed to during this time in my life please click here.

My time spent in climate science was fantastic. It allowed me to continue my studies in the sciences, and the politics of the environment. I also was able to develop mad programming skills. I am either fluent or adequate in many languages and environments including python, c, Matlab, Fortran, Perl, Java, HTML, CSS, PHP, ++ more.

Which leads me to my current role as Chief Technology Officer at TheQueenBean.com . Coffee has always been a huge factor in my life, from my youth when I learned how to perk the perfect cup in my grandmother’s kitchen to my current obsession with stovetop espresso. Coffee is a unifying language – taste, smell, sight – it brings us together, gathered around the kitchen table, on common grounds!

I hope you enjoyed learning a little about how I got where I am! If you have questions or comments feel free to post them or hit me up at raokbycindy8@gmail.com

Until next time!
